Michael Gula is a custom fly tier, writer, illustrator and photographer. His writing has appeared in American Angler, Fly Tyer, Flyfishing & Tying Journal, New Jersey Trout Guide, and numerous conservation newsletters. His illustrations and photographs have enhanced his writing and the writings of other authors. A retired public school administrator, Michael has been tying flies for six decades, starting when he was nine years old. Michael is the past president of two Trout Unlimited Chapters, also served on two State Trout Unlimited Councils, was the co-founder of the annual West Denver Trout Unlimited Fly Tying Clinic, served as a consultant for Whiting Farms, and has worn two hats as a Whiting Farms Ambassador and currently as a Whiting Farms Pro Team Member. An avid fly tying and fly fishing book collector, Michael spends much of his time researching and appreciating the history and contributions those before him have made. When not tying flies or fly fishing Michael can be found cooking, gardening, traveling, and celebrating life with his significant other Terri. Michael and Terri reside in Parker, CO.
